Reiki is a gentle wellbeing practice that promotes deep relaxation, working with the parasympathetic nervous system to supports the body's natural ability to restore balance. There is increasing evidence that Reiki supports pain management, and can help to manage depression and anxiety symptoms - along with a whole host of other benefits.
Using light touch or hands positioned just above the body, Reiki aims to create a calm and nurturing environment that encourages relaxation and a sense of wellbeing.
Many people choose Reiki to help them unwind, reduce stress, improve sleep, and create space for reflection and self-care.
Reiki is a complementary wellbeing practice and should not replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

WHAT’S INCLUDED
The Science of Reiki
While emerging research suggests Reiki may support relaxation, reduce anxiety, and improve quality of life for some people, this is just part of why I offer Reiki sessions. I used to be a complete skeptic. One day on holiday I felt in desperate need of a massage, but everywhere was booked. I didn’t know much about Reiki but thought it might at least help me to relax. By the end of the session, my life had changed - I could feel the energy working.
As an ADHDer with a very busy mind, I find it hard to switch off. It was the first time in years that I felt such a deep sense of calm, my thoughts blissfully clear. My chronic pains had lessened, the stress reduced. I felt fantastic, and I was hooked.
I dived deep into the science of Reiki, listening to podcasts, reading books and scientific articles. I trained in Reiki 1 & 2 and started practicing on friends and family. It’s an awesome gift to share, and I love hearing the transformative stories of those I gave it to - especially my more skeptical friends!
Now, I’d love to share it with you too. I've linked a few research articles below if you'd like to explore the evidence for yourself. But ultimately, I believe the best way to understand Reiki is to experience it. We're still learning exactly how Reiki exerts its effects, and I find that fascinating. While the science continues to evolve, my own transformative experience and the meaningful shifts many clients have experienced, inspire me to share it today. Any doubts? I'd love to welcome you for a session and let you decide how it feels for you.
Reiki is a complementary therapy and should never substitute the advice of a medical proffessional. I believe it works alongside to help you stimulate the parasympathetic state - or ‘rest/digest/restore’ as it’s sometimes called. In this state, the body is better able to heal itself.

Reiki and Mental Health Symptoms
This review included only studies that compared Reiki with sham (placebo) Reiki - one of the most rigorous reviews available. It found evidence suggesting Reiki may reduce stress, anxiety, and some depressive symptoms beyond placebo.

Effects of Reiki Therapy on Quality of Life
This meta-analysis pooled results from 661 participants across randomized controlled trials. It found a statistically significant improvement in quality of life, with larger effects seen in studies using multiple Reiki sessions.

Complementary Therapies for Pain
This placebo-controlled randomized controlled trial on chronic knee pain showed that 55% of people receiving Reiki experienced clinically meaningful symptom improvement, compared with 20% in the sham Reiki group and 13% on the wait-list.
